      Independent Learning page

        Article Summary

The Independent learning page is used to monitor how classes are using the Independent Learning functionality available for students.

For each student, stats will be shown on usage over a period of time. Click View under the activity column to see an overview of which topics the student has been recently working on, including the level at which they have been working on it, and how many questions they have answered correctly.

How do I see if a student has done some Independent Learning?

The Hand in Page shows a column, which will contain the time spent by the student, working on independent learning, between the hand out and hand in days for the homework you are viewing. On the answer history, there will also be a section that highlights this time spent, and number of questions answered.

There is also a dedicated Independent learning page, available under the More menu, which allows you to select a class, and view independent learning activity for each student. This includes time spent, XP earned and questions answered, with an option to select this over different periods of time. Clicking into a student will then allow you to see a similar activity view that is available to the student, showing topics they have worked on, the level at which they have worked on that topic, going back over the past 28 days.

For a class, you can see time spent and XP gained for the past 7 days or the current academic year:

Clicking View on each row gives more detail about each individual student's activity:

How does independent learning affect XP?

On the Student rewards page, there is also an XP column called Independent Learning XP which will show you XP that students have earned using Independent Learning in the last 7 days.

Students earn 100XP for each task (set of questions) they complete within an Objective.

Please note: XP earned in Independent Learning will also be included in the total XP column on the Student rewards page.

Are there Bookwork Checks in Independent learning?

Bookwork Checks are disabled in Independent Learning but we still encourage students to write down bookwork codes and their workings.

Can I see Independent Learning from a student perspective?
