Thank you for your feedback
If you don't want a class to recieve new compulsory homework for a while, but still want them to get new XP Boost & Target homeworks, you can change any upcoming homework week to Optional only. You may wish to do this over holidays or activity weeks for example.
A class's homework can be made optional on Planner
To make homework Optional for a specific week:
- Go to Planner from the left of the screen
- Choose the upcoming week you would like to change from the Academic Year Homework plan on the right of the screen
- Choose Optional only from the Type dropdown. Your change will be saved automatically
Changing a class's homework type to Optional only will just remove their compulsory homework
If you change a class's homework to Optional only on Planner:
- No new homeworks will show on their Compulsory homework section
- New homework will show on their XP boost and Target homework sections, and the length of these will not be changed
- If there were any topics in the Planner for that week these will be covered in the XP Boost section
- Students will still have access to the full content library in Independent Learning
Note:
- Parents will not receive emails if their child's homework is set to Optional Only
- Optional only homework will not count towards your homework completion rates
- If you want to make homework Optional only for individual students rather than the whole class, see this article
- If you want to switch homework off altogether for any length of time (if you don't want new XP Boost & Target homeworks to go out either), see this article
- If your homework has already gone out and you want to make it Optional retrospectively, see this article
