Common mistakes that students may make when trying to log in
Note: If a student has tried to log in too many times, they will be unable to log in successfully until a time limit* has passed. Alternatively, if you trigger a password reset for the student in student manager, this will remove this time limit.
Trying to log in to the wrong site.
Check students are using the correct student URL for your school’s site - this will normally be in the form http://schoolname.sparxmaths.uk/student
Check that the login window shows that students are logging in to the correct school by reading the school name on their login page. It should say ‘You are logging into Sparx at Your School Name’:
Putting capitals or spaces in their username.
All letters are lower-case, and there are no spaces in usernames.
Using an incorrect password.
If students have forgotten their passwords these can be reset in Student Manager. Please see this article for more information:

Some students may get confused as to which login details to use with Sparx, especially if they are new to the school and have been given a lot of new login details in a short space of time. Check students are using their Sparx login details.
Trying to log in before they have registered.
Students must register when they use Sparx for the first time. If they have not done this then they won't be able to log in. Find out more about how students register in this article:
Using the wrong date of birth when registering.
When students first register they need to use their date of birth. Check they are typing this correctly. Dates of birth are taken from your school’s MIS, so if you are still having problems then check it is saved correctly in your MIS.
