What should I do if a student fails multiple bookwork checks?

If a student fails multiple bookwork checks then the teacher can investigate why this is happening by talking to the student. It might be necessary to run through how to do bookwork checks again with the student - showing them our introductory bookwork check video may help with this, or to spend some time sitting with the student whilst they complete some of their homework tasks to ensure that they understand how to record codes and answers correctly.

It is worth remembering that Bookwork checks can be carried out on both questions that students have got right or wrong. You might find it useful therefore to remind students to not correct their workings if they get a question wrong (and in the process cross out the answer they entered into Sparx), but rather they should write down the NEW bookwork code for the new question they are given, and record their new workings and answer there.
