Why is one of my students missing?
If you're expecting to a see a student in Sparx and you're not, check the following common scenarios that may apply:
1. The end of the academic year is approaching and we've disabled automatic syncing with your MIS
For most of the academic year, we'll automatically sync changes (like new students and class moves) from your school's MIS overnight, but we pause these automatic updates towards the end of June each year because:
- Many UK schools start adding next year's classes into their MIS before the end of the academic year, and
- If we were to sync these changes to Sparx this could result in current classes and students being removed too early

2. The student has recently moved class and we haven't generated a homework for them since
If the student has recently moved into a new class, they won't show on the Hand in Page for their new class until a new homework has been generated for them. You can verify whether the student has been correctly moved into the new class in Sparx, by reviewing the class list in Student Manager.
3. The student has only recently moved classes in your MIS
Wonde syncs with your MIS around every 4 hours and Sparx syncs with Wonde every night so if the student has only just moved class then they will not be showing in their new class yet. To try a manual sync into Sparx you can Preview changes, and then Sync changes in your Class Manager > Import and Manage Classes.
4. The student has only recently been added to your MIS
Similarly, if the student has only just been added to your MIS then they will not be showing in Sparx yet. In this case, you can try a manual sync, as described above.
5. The student hasn't been added to the correct class in your MIS
The student needs to have been added to the correct maths class in your MIS for them to be imported into your Sparx site. Check with your MIS Administrator if this is the case.
