Why doesn’t my student have a homework level?

Students need to answer around 100* questions for Sparx to determine their homework level

If you're setting an hour of Compulsory homework, this will typically take around 4 weeks. The process can be sped up by students doing their XP Boost and Target homework.

Throughout this time Sparx will gradually pay less attention to the Initial Homework Difficulty Level of their class until it finally settles on the student's Homework level. Once this is established, it will be visible to you on Student Manager.

Whilst the student level is being determined, Sparx will still personalise each homework, but students may find that their questions are on the easy side.

Several factors could impact how long it takes for Sparx to display a student's level

All of the examples below will increase the time it takes for Sparx to determine a student's homework level

• If your Compulsory homework length is shorter than 60 minutes 
• If the student has a slow working speed or is getting a large number of complex questions that take longer to answer
• If the student isn't fully completing each homework
