Make sure email addresses match
If students see the following error message make sure the email address showing in Sparx Maths is the same as the one linked to their Google or Microsoft account.
If the address in the error message is correct:
- Update the email address for the student in your school's MIS*, if your schools uses and MIS connection with Sparx Maths, or
- Upload new student email addresses via CSV upload, if you manage your students' accounts via CSV
* These details will update automatically overnight, or you can perform a manual sync to bring the changes into Sparx Maths more quickly
If the address in the error message is incorrect:
- Check all email addresses on the student's SSO profile. If using Microsoft, you will need to check this field in particular:
If the student gets a message saying their email address is already in use or that an account already exists, go to the student's details in Student Manager and unlink their SSO account using the Unlink button, then ask them to try logging in again. This will enable Sparx Maths to refresh the link between their login credentials and their Sparx Maths account.
Unlink email addresses if a student has not logged in for a long time
If the student has not logged in for a long period of time e.g. 2 months (this can be found on their Student Details page), you may need to refresh the link between their login credentials and their Sparx Maths account.
Go to the student's details in Student Manager and unlink their SSO account using the Unlink button, then ask them to try logging in again.
