Supporting new students who join during the school year

        Article summary

New students will be set their first homework on the next hand-out day

Once a student has been put into the Sparx system and added to a class, they will be set homework from the upcoming hand-out date. If the class already has a homework assignment handed out, then the new student will not be able to access this; their first homework will be set when the next homework is set.

New students will see the same homework content as the rest of the class

Students who join mid-way through the year will see the same topics that their class peers are seeing. Sparx Homework prioritises topics assigned in the current week alongside spaced practice on topics previously covered. If a student needs to catch up on topics covered by the class before they joined, they can access these through Independent Learning.
